BACKGROUND
TECHNITAL is a
private joint stock company which was established in 1964,
under the name of TECHNITAL International General Engineering
S.p.A. During the succeeding forty years the original company
has absorbed other companies of the TECHNITAL Group and
undergone a series of merges, evolving into the strong and
independent TECHNITAL S.p.A. of today.
One of Italy’s
leading consulting engineering firms, TECHNITAL is a dynamic
and rapidly expanding company specialised in technical and
economic studies, design, supervision and management in
relation to transport infrastructures, marine and coastal
works, hydraulic plans and structures, and environmental
works.
Thanks to its
high level of expertise, its dynamic nature and versatility;
management autonomy and efficiency and its sophisticated
hardware equipment and software libraries, Technital has been
awarded highly significant national and international
projects.
On the national
scene TECHNITAL’s experience and reputation have been greatly
enhanced by two major, multiple-contract projects carried on
in Italy: the Sicilian motorway network
and the Project to Safeguard Venice.
The firm has is
also internationally renowned, having operated in numerous
developing countries throughout the world, in the Middle East,
Africa, Eastern Europe, Asia and Latin America. TECHNITAL has
been responsible for a number of highly prestigious
international contracts, such as the Kagera Basin
Integrated Transport Study involving Burundi, Rwanda,
Tanzania and Uganda, the New Direct High Speed Railway
Dammam-Riyadh in Saudi Arabia and Gharrafa interchange
in Doha, Qatar.
The company’s
expanding activities abroad have led to the establishment of
Regional Branch Offices in the Middle East,
North Africa, Eastern Europe and Latin America.
TECHNITAL is
registered with and has provided design, supervision and
technical assistance services to the major international
financing organizations (World Bank, EU, UNDP, EBRD, IDB, EDF,
etc.). The firm has also supplied professional services to
numerous foreign governmental and non-governmental
organizations.
The firm's
success is reflected in its growing number of professional
staff and steadily increasing turnover. The Company’s annual
turnover in the last five years (1998-2002), based on
engineering services performed, has averaged roughly €
21,500,000 and the estimated turnover for 2003 is € 34,500,000
.
The Board of
Directors is composed of four members: the Chairman, Alberto
Scotti, and two Managing Directors: Paolo Liberati and Massimo Raccosta.
