The project:
A river basin Master Plan is a programmatic instrument for the
hydraulic and hydrogeological protection of soils, the
conservation of natural and environmental resources and the
promotion of a development compatible with the productive
sectors of an area defined by the physiographic limits
corresponding to the catchment basin.
The present project concerns the second phase of the
development of the Plan in relation to the Brenta-Bacchiglione
rivers, involving a catchment area of some 6000 km2.
This phase includes the completion of the framework of
knowledge regarding the quantity and quality of the water
resources, the development of a mathematical model to analyse
the capacity of the basin to satisfy the local water demand,
and the application of the model to study various intervention
schemes for improving water quality and supply. The study will
provide concrete proposals for remedial measures and
environmental recovery actions.
